Could you recommend some places to eat deliciously in Samarkand? I understand that the food is generally tasty everywhere there, but I would also be interested in experiencing a colorful and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere.
Just came out of the cafe, Oshqand — the plov is really tasty. For four of us (two kids), it cost 250,000 soms. They serve plov, little salads, chalop, and a very delicious homemade compote. You can ask for a half portion or a kids’ portion—I ate the kids’ portion and it was quite filling. You can also order one full portion to share among everyone. At this place, they cook plov twice a day: the first batch from 11 am to 2 pm, and the second one starts after lunch.

If you want a restaurant with atmosphere and service, I would recommend the cafe near Green Tree on Pendjikent Street, about 2 km from Registan along the road, called Oblokul Mantu (Mantu Mulyon).
For plov, I recommend going to Joni Osh (near the Geophysics area) and a small café called Alixan on Uzbekistan Street. The best samsa I found is on Kokand Street—I usually get mine from a place called "4 Tanur."
Just behind Registan there’s a spot called ‘Shashlyk Uz’ 👍🏻🔥🔥🔥 we really, really liked it! Prices are reasonable, portions are huge, and the interior is super atmospheric.
I can confidently recommend the little restaurant behind the Registan. The food is delicious, the place is of high quality, and the prices are reasonable – they don’t overcharge.
