Hello everyone. Could you please tell me where I can find information about vacationing at Issyk-Kul? I would like to take my elderly mother there in August.

I'm looking for a good, clean, quiet beach, decent food, and a comfortable hotel, sanatorium, or guesthouse. Which area would be best to consider for accommodation options?

Thank you.

I stayed in Tosor. It's on the southern shore. Clean, peaceful, and cooler in summer (compared to the northern shore). On Booking you can find a house or hotel, with meals included or without.

And if you want really, really quiet — there's a yurt camp in Tosor. It stands separately, away from everything else.

Tosor is really just a village. Yes, it's quiet, with endless deserted beaches, affordable prices, and beautiful sunsets. But there's nothing resembling a sanatorium or resort complex there.

It's more of a place for artists, free spirits, and people who want to disappear from civilization for a while. Also, getting around from there without your own car or a taxi can be quite difficult.

For sanatoriums and better service, I'd recommend the northern shore. 'Avrora', for example, is a good option for elderly people. But it all depends on your budget.
