Hi,

Could you please advise — I found a day tour on Tripster covering the key places in Armenia (Garni, Geghard, and Lake Sevan). Is it better to take this combined tour or visit them separately?

if it’s just for a general impression, then you can take everything together.

Or is it better to split it over a couple of days? We’re flying there for the first time.
I’m afraid it’ll all feel rushed.
But I want to see everything properly and in full.

I personally wouldn’t… It’s too much of a whirlwind tour… In the Garni–Geghard direction, Azat Reservoir, Khor Virap, and Symphony of Stones are nearby. All of that is close together and can be done in one day… Sevan is in the other direction… Dilijan and Haghartsin fit naturally with it…

Garni, Geghard, and Sevan (probably Sevanavank) in one day is actually quite manageable, not rushed.
Garni and Geghard are always paired together (and Symphony of Stones too), it won’t take more than half a day.

We took the Garni–Geghard tour, and in Garni we let the group go on without us and finished the tour ourselves, and after that visited all the other places on our own too.
With the 30 minutes they give you at each place, it’s impossible to truly feel it.
Today alone we spent 4 hours at Sevan, that kind of format just isn’t possible with a group tour)

I generally try not to travel in group formats… In my opinion, it’s better to hire a driver and see what you want and for as long as you want

Agreed, that’s the best option — to really feel the country, nature, and culture.

And how did you get there and back)?

It’s the closest location to Yerevan, only 30 km to Garni… Taxi…

Taxi — a very convenient and inexpensive form of transport in Armenia.

And where exactly around Sevan did you like it? It’s also our first time, and we’ll be staying in Dilijan for three nights.

We just walked around everywhere, especially where there were no tourists)
For example, you can go into the Writers’ House, they make delicious mint tea there.
And there’s that Soviet-era atmosphere too)

Good afternoon. Is it possible to visit all of these in one excursion:

Khor Virap
Azat Reservoir
Geghard
Garni
Symphony of Stones
Charents Arch
Lake Sevan?

Or is that fantasy? 😊

@helena Even if it’s possible, I wouldn’t recommend it 😅 These places are in slightly different directions, you won’t be able to properly see everything in one day.
