Good morning. Could anyone tell me whether there are any minibuses or buses running from Tashkent towards Urungach (the Jade Lakes)? We would like to visit them independently, without a guide or a rented car.
No. If there are more than three of you, there isn't much point trying to get there using several different types of transport. You can get to the village, and then it's another 3 km to the lower lake, but the water has already disappeared from the lower lake.
If there are three of you, it may make sense to look for transport from the city to the village.
Otherwise, you can take a minibus to Gazalkent and ask at the bus station there. There used to be transportation going closer to the lakes from Nanay or Karabulak, I think.
And doing it in one day using connecting local transport is basically hopeless.
