Hello, friends!

I have a question about local trains from Yerevan to different cities in Armenia (Gyumri, Yeraskh, etc.).

Does anyone here have experience traveling by these trains? Is the schedule listed on Yandex Timetable accurate? How much do tickets cost? How do you pay for them, and so on?

I’d really appreciate any information on how to get to cool places in Armenia from Yerevan.
Thank you!

The timetable is available on the South Caucasus Railway website. You can also buy tickets there, but only if you have a non-Russian bank card.

When we were in Gyumri, we went to the railway station to ask about the Gyumri–Yerevan train. The schedule matched perfectly. A ticket for the regular train (not the high-speed one) costs 1,500 drams per person — around 360 RUB or about $4.50. You can buy tickets right before departure if it’s not a weekend.

On weekends, and for the high-speed train (which only runs on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), it’s better to buy tickets in advance.

The Yerevan–Gyumri Railway train from Yerevan to Gyumri and back was honestly my main impression from the whole trip....
