Good afternoon! Please share your experience if you’ve traveled on the Yerevan–Tbilisi Railway train.
Am I understanding correctly that it runs every day, just with different departure times on even and odd dates? Is it possible to buy a ticket online from Russia somehow, or only at the railway station in Yerevan? Is it usually possible to buy tickets 4–5 days before departure, or do they sell out early? Maybe there are some other nuances as well.

No, it runs every other day: on even-numbered dates from Yerevan, and on odd-numbered dates back from Tbilisi.
You can buy a ticket from Russia if you have an Armenian bank card (I’m not completely sure, but several people weren’t able to pay with non-Armenian cards). The return ticket from Tbilisi to Yerevan can only be purchased at the station — tickets departing from Georgia are not sold online.
Usually, it’s still possible to buy tickets 4–5 days before departure. For at least another month, the trains are expected to be half-empty.
