Hello, dear community! I’m working on a bicycle travel route. Planning to go from Russia to Georgia and then to Azerbaijan. I really want to visit Ganja. And then continue via the Caspian to Kazakhstan... Question: will I be able to cross the Georgia–Azerbaijan border by bicycle? I know that back in 2025 it was still closed since the pandemic. But maybe there are options, for example, to load up with a truck driver and cross the border that way... Maybe there are some other options?
There are no options. Entry by land is closed. Only by plane.
That’s bad.... (( So I’ll have to plan a different route...
Good afternoon, could you please advise if it’s still possible to enter Azerbaijan in your own car (from Russia)? If yes, what options are there?
Put the car on a car carrier, and fly yourself.
Or get a special permission from the Cabinet of Ministers 🤷
Also, how long can a car from Russia stay in Azerbaijan? I’ve heard it’s 90 days… is that correct?
Yes, the 90 days is correct. If you need longer, you’ll have to clear the car through customs.
I’ve been here for more than 90 days with Russian plates. About the 90 days — that’s true, but when leaving they fine you 1 AZN for each overdue day. I’ll be leaving soon and will find out for sure. So far, the police haven’t had any questions.
Hello!
Could you please tell me, for those who have already transported a car through Georgia to Baku on a car carrier — how much did it cost, what additional expenses are there when picking up the car, and how long does delivery take?
Sedan $200, crossover $250, SUV $300. In Baku, 200 manat to pick up the car from customs.
And insurance, taxes — do you need to pay them separately later, or is everything handled at customs?
Everything is handled at customs, included in the 200 manat I mentioned above.
