Please advise. Is 5.5 days too much for Bukhara? Where would you recommend going or visiting nearby? Or should we change the itinerary? Perhaps it makes sense to make it like this:
Is it worth going to Khiva? We’ll probably get more tired from the road. Please advise.
The second option is better, just replace Tashkent with Samarkand — 3 days in Samarkand and 1 day in Tashkent. That would be better. Khiva is even better preserved, in terms of historical buildings, than Bukhara.
4 days for Tashkent is too much, honestly there’s nothing much to do there, very little historical stuff.
Khiva is fine, it’s compact, you can see everything in one day.
You could include 2 days in Samarkand, and keep the remaining days in Bukhara, since there’s more activity in Bukhara and more to stroll around.
Hello) Two days in Bukhara were enough for us. After that it started to feel boring(
We also spent two days in Samarkand, but honestly, I would rather allocate 3 days there. We didn’t manage to visit many historical places.
We were in Tashkent for two days as well, and that was enough for us.
If you plan 4 days in Tashkent, then only for the mountains.
When we were looking for a guide in Bukhara, we were told that Bukhara has around 27 “iconic” sites, but we chose 6–7 and that was enough for us. All the mosques are very similar to each other and everything is located practically in one area. We spent about 6–7 hours on a walking tour.
In Samarkand, all the sites are spread throughout the city. We were on a tour for about 10 hours and it still wasn’t enough 😂 We even regretted not taking 3 days in Samarkand 🙂
