Hello! I can’t find any information about this anywhere—none at all. Perhaps someone here knows. We’re planning a trip by car: Russia – Kazakhstan – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan. From Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan, it seems there are two checkpoints. I found a couple of mentions of Dustlik, and it seems tourists are allowed through in their own vehicles there. But I can’t find any information about the Izboskan checkpoint. Somewhere I read in passing that it might be pedestrian-only. It’s much closer for us. Does anyone know if it’s possible to drive through Izboskan into Uzbekistan?
From Kyrgyzstan into the Fergana Valley, the only checkpoint that allows vehicular traffic is Dostuk-Dustlik.
I asked a friend in Bishkek who organizes jeep tours. He said that for foreigners, crossing is only possible through Osh (Dostuk checkpoint).
Thank you for your messages. We have double checked and it’s exactly as you described. Hopefully, this thread will help others when planning their trips!
