Good night! Could someone please tell me if it’s possible to cross the border from Shymkent to Tashkent at night?
We’re arriving in Shymkent late in the evening and would prefer not to look for a place to stay just for one night before continuing the journey in the morning.
Also, is it possible to take a taxi directly from the airport to Chernyaevka? (That’s what the border point is called, right?) Or would it be better to do it some other way? Please, if anyone knowledgeable could advise 🙏
Chernyaevka is closed. Kaplanbek is open. I recently crossed from Tashkent in the evening — went through both borders quite quickly.
Chernyaevka is under renovation. You can easily cross the border through Kaplanbek — it’s open 24 hours. There were only about 3–4 people ahead of me on both sides, took around 20–30 minutes in total. Last year at Chernyaevka it took about two hours, there were way too many people.
