Marble Wall is a majestic peak standing at an impressive altitude of 6,400 meters above sea level, forming part of the Meridionalny mountain range along the Kazakhstan-China border. Direct climbing on the wall itself is not possible due to frequent icefalls. The peak earns its name from the visible outcrop of marble on its surface. During winter, the region experiences minimal snowfall as the northeastern winds blow most of it away. In summer, at an altitude of 2,000 meters, daytime temperatures reach a warm +24 to +26°C, while at night they drop to a cooler +5 to +8°C. The Marble Wall Glacier serves as the source of two small rivers, Ashi-Tor and Kesken-Tas, which eventually converge to form the Bayankol River, flowing northward. The base camp for climbers in the region takes its name from this river, offering a starting point for exploration of the surrounding landscape.
