Upon your arrival in Bishkek, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel to settle in. After some rest, your Kyrgyz adventure begins with a city tour where you’ll visit key landmarks, including the Fine Arts Museum, Oak Park, Ala-Too Square, the Philharmonic Hall, the Statue of Manas, Victory Square, and the bustling Osh Bazaar. Following lunch, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Ala-Archa National Park, located just 40 kilometers from the city. Here, you’ll hike through a picturesque alpine gorge alongside the swift-flowing Ala-Archa River, surrounded by majestic, snow-capped peaks and lush, forested mountains. After exploring the park, you’ll return to Bishkek for an overnight stay at your hotel.

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll set off for Kochkor village. Along the way, a stop will be made at the historic Burana Tower, a remnant of the ancient city of Balasagyn dating back to the 11th to 13th centuries. Upon arriving in Kochkor, you will have the unique opportunity to visit a local felt carpet workshop, where you’ll learn about the intricate process of crafting traditional Kyrgyz felt carpets. Experience the warmth of Kyrgyz hospitality with dinner at a local family home, followed by a cozy overnight stay in a homestay.

This day marks the beginning of your horse trek towards the stunning Son-Kul Lake. You will ride through the scenic ChaarArcha Valley, passing over the ChaarArcha Pass. A delicious picnic lunch will be served by the rushing river while you admire the stunning views of the sacred Baba Ata Mountain, which towers at 4,400 meters. Following lunch, you will continue your ride to Kilemche Pasture, where you will spend the night in traditional yurts, experiencing the true essence of nomadic life. The trek will take approximately 5 to 6 hours.

After enjoying breakfast, you will set out again on horseback, heading toward the breathtaking Son-Kul Lake, known for its pristine beauty and tranquil surroundings. The route will take you through the enchanting Kilemche Jailoo, culminating in the rocky and adventurous pass that leads to Son-Kul. As you ride at an altitude of 3,013 meters, prepare to be captivated by the spectacular views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Upon arrival, you will have free time to explore the area and soak in the serene beauty. Tonight, you will sleep in cozy yurts, built from a wooden frame and covered in felt, making for a comfortable night’s rest.

After breakfast, you’ll transfer to Karakol, traveling along the picturesque southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake, the world’s second-largest alpine lake, situated at 1,608 meters above sea level. This vast body of water, often referred to as the «Kyrgyz Sea,» is surrounded by stunning landscapes. The journey will take you through lush valleys and past the OrtoTokoi Reservoir, with a stop at the magnificent Jeti-Oguz Gorge. The gorge, named “Seven Bulls” in Kyrgyz, features striking red-brown cliffs that create a dramatic backdrop. You may choose to hike in the gorge, exploring its beautiful hot springs known for their healing properties. In the evening, enjoy a delightful dinner with a local Uigur family and stay overnight at a hotel in Karakol.

Your day begins with a tour of Karakol, where you will visit the museum dedicated to Prjevalsky, a renowned explorer famous for his discoveries in Central Asia. Following the museum, your tour continues to the Dungan Mosque, a unique structure built without the use of nails, showcasing beautiful Chinese architectural influences, and the historic Orthodox Church. Afterward, you will transfer back to Bishkek, with a visit to an open-air museum showcasing ancient petroglyphs dating back to 800 B.C. along the way. The stunning Boom Gorge will provide a picturesque backdrop as you make your way back to Bishkek for your final overnight stay.

Pre-requisites: you are expected to be capable of mounting and dismounting unassisted, comfortable and in control at a walk with the saddle, trotting on the flat ground.
Recommended list of personal items: warm clothes, a coat, tracking-boots, sleeping bag, rucksack, flash light, hat, your own First Aid Kit, sunscreen and sunglasses.
Notes: during the tour a local guide and horseman will look after you and the horses. Riding time is approximately 5-6 hours per day. The altitude varies between 2000 – 3100 m above sea level.
