Conclude your day with a visit to Telavi, the cultural and administrative center of Kakheti, surrounded by the rolling hills and vineyards of the Caucasus foothills. Whether you’re a history lover, wine enthusiast, or simply seeking a scenic escape, this tour blends romance, heritage, and Georgian soul into a truly unforgettable journey.

Morning Departure from Tbilisi:
Your journey begins after breakfast, when our professional guide and driver meet you at your hotel for a comfortable drive eastward into the fertile Kakheti region, renowned as the cradle of Georgian winemaking. The scenic ride through vineyard-dotted landscapes sets the tone for a day of discovery and charm.

Stop 1: Bodbe Monastery Complex
Our first destination is the peaceful Bodbe Monastery, nestled on a hill overlooking the Alazani Valley. This sacred site is believed to be the final resting place of Saint Nino, the woman who brought Christianity to Georgia in the 4th century. Restored in the 19th century by decree of Tsar Alexander III, the monastery now functions as a nunnery and is one of Georgia’s most revered pilgrimage destinations. Take a moment to absorb the spiritual atmosphere and enjoy the tranquil views of the valley below.

Stop 2: Sighnaghi – The City of Love
Next, we visit Sighnaghi, a charming hilltop town famous for its well-preserved city walls, cobbled streets, and romantic ambience. Surrounded by 18th-century fortifications with 23 watchtowers, the town offers panoramic views of the Alazani Valley and Caucasus Mountains. Stroll through the Royal Town’s historic center, shop for local crafts, and soak in the romantic vibe that makes Sighnaghi a favorite for weddings and honeymoons.

Stop 3: Tsinandali Estate and Wine Cellar
We then head to Tsinandali, the former residence of the noble Chavchavadze family. Explore the beautifully restored 19th-century house museum of Prince Alexander Chavchavadze—poet, statesman, and one of Georgia’s cultural icons. Wander through the perfectly manicured English garden, and descend into the original wine cellar where European-style winemaking was first introduced in Georgia. A wine tasting can be arranged here, offering you a chance to savor the legacy of Kakheti.

Stop 4: Telavi – Capital of Kakheti
Our final destination is Telavi, the historical and administrative heart of the Kakheti region. Take a leisurely stroll through the charming streets of the old town, and enjoy a photo stop at the monument of King Erekle II, a revered figure in Georgian history who played a key role in preserving the nation’s independence. Telavi’s laid-back atmosphere and scenic views make for a perfect conclusion to the day.

Return to Tbilisi via Gombori Pass:
Drive back to Tbilisi along the picturesque Gombori Pass, which offers stunning mountain views and quiet forested roads—a scenic finale to a romantic and enriching day. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel in the evening with memories of Kakheti’s warm spirit, rich history, and timeless romance.
