Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Urumqi

Your adventure begins in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Province in China. After arriving at the airport, you will be greeted by our friendly staff and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Later, take a guided sightseeing tour of Urumqi, where you can explore the local culture and attractions. Spend the night at the hotel to rest up for the journey ahead.

Day 2Urumqi to Kashgar

After breakfast, you will head to the airport for a flight to Kashgar. Upon arrival, your driver will be waiting to take you to the city. Start your exploration at the serene Apak Hoja Tomb, also known as the “Fragrant Concubine Tomb.” This architectural gem showcases stunning Uyghur Islamic design. Next, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Kashgar Sunday Market, famed as the largest bazaar in Central Asia. Here, you can find everything from spices to textiles, with the amusing note that chicken milk and cow eggs are not for sale! Enjoy lunch at a traditional Uyghur restaurant, followed by a leisurely stroll through the winding alleys of the historic Old Town. Visit the magnificent Id Kah Mosque, China’s largest mosque, where you’ll have the chance to learn about the local Islamic culture. Finally, walk down Handicraft Street, where artisans create beautiful crafts, showcasing their skills in pottery, woodwork, and traditional music.

Day 3Kashgar to Tashkorgan via Karakul Lake

On this day, embark on a scenic drive along the Karakoram Highway, renowned for its breathtaking views and being the highest paved border crossing in the world. Your first stop will be Opal Village, where you can witness traditional village life and sample delicious Uyghur snacks. After that, continue to Oytagh Red Mountain and Bulung Kul (Corner Lake), a picturesque spot perfect for photography. The highlight of the day is Karakul Lake, situated at an impressive altitude of 3,600 meters, nestled between the majestic Muztagata and Gonger mountains. Enjoy a picnic lunch of fresh fruits and bread from Opal while taking in the stunning lake views. In the afternoon, return to Kashgar via the Karakoram Highway, arriving in the city by late afternoon.

Day 5:Kashgar to Osh via Irkeshtam

On this day, you will transfer to the Irkeshtam Pass, where you will meet your Kyrgyz guide and driver. As you cross the border into Kyrgyzstan, prepare to be captivated by the awe-inspiring views of the snow-covered Pamir Mountain Range on your right and gentle hills on your left, dotted with verdant summer pastures. After the transfer, settle in for an overnight stay at a hotel in Osh, Kyrgyzstan’s second-largest city.

Day 6:City Tour in Osh and Uzgen

Your day begins with a city tour in Osh, which is believed to have been founded by King Solomon centuries ago and played a significant role in Silk Road trading routes. Visit Suleiman-Too, a sacred mountain, and its accompanying museum, and explore the bustling Osh Bazaar, where you can shop for local goods just as merchants did in the past. Following lunch, you’ll travel to Uzgen, where you’ll visit ancient mausoleums and the town’s market, which was once a capital of the Karakhanid State in the 11th and 12th centuries.
