Uzbek Evisa FAQ

What types of Uzbekistan e-visa are available?

The e-visa portal issues single, double and multiple-entry tourist or business visas for individuals. An e-visa allows entry into Uzbekistan for a visit of up to 30 days and which is valid for 90 days from the date of issue. Each traveller must have his or her own e-visa (except for children under 16).

How long does it take to get an Uzbekistan e-visa?

Processing and issuing the e-visa takes 2 working days, so you should submit your e-visa application at least 3 working days before you plan to enter Uzbekistan.

How long are Uzbekistan tourist e-visas valid for?

E-visas are valid for 90 days from the date of application. You can enter Uzbekistan at any time during this period (single-entry only) and then spend up to 30 consecutive days in the country. For example, if you enter Uzbekistan when your e-visa is only valid for 10 more days, your duration of stay in the country will still be up to 30 days from the day you arrive.

What documents do I need to provide when applying for an e-visa?

When applying for an Uzbekistan e-visa, you’ll need to provide a couple of key documents through the online portal:

  • Passport Copy: Ensure you upload a clear, legible copy of your passport. The digital file should be no larger than 500KB.
  • Passport Photo: A passport-sized photo is required, adhering to the International Civil Aviation Organization’s guidelines. The photo should measure 35×40 mm, be of 300 dpi quality, with your face taking up 70-80% of the frame against a plain background.

While there’s no explicit rule for e-visas regarding passport validity, it’s wise to follow the Uzbekistan Government’s general visa guideline. This suggests having your passport valid for at least three months beyond the expiration of your visa.

How much does the e-visa cost and how do I pay for it?

For the Uzbekistan e-visa, the fee structure is straightforward: 20 USD for a single-entry visa, 35 USD for a double-entry visa, and 50 USD for a visa allowing multiple entries. These fees apply to applicants of all nationalities.

Payment for the e-visa must be completed through the online portal, exclusively using a Visa credit card. If you don’t possess a Visa card yourself, you’re permitted to use one belonging to another individual. Please note, this is the sole method available for e-visa fee transactions.

It’s important to be aware that all payments made for the e-visa are final and non-refundable. This applies even in cases where the e-visa application is not successful or if you decide to cancel your journey to Uzbekistan after the e-visa has been granted.

Do the people accompanying me need separate e-visas?

Yes. Each traveller must have a separate e-visa. The exception is children under 16, who do not need a visa to enter Uzbekistan if they:
— are accompanied by a parent or guardian who has an e-visa (or other entry visa) to Uzbekistan, and
— have a valid, biometric passport.

There are plans to offer a group tourist visa (for five or more adult foreign citizens) through the e-visa portal, but this function is not available yet.

How long does my passport need to be valid for?

Currently, there is no specific rule about this for the e-visa. However, to be on the safe side we recommend that you comply with the Government of Uzbekistan’s requirement (for visas processed by an embassy or consulate) that your passport is valid for at least 3 months after your visa expires.

What if my e-visa contains errors?

There is currently no option to amend any information on your e-visa. If your e-visa contains errors and/or does not match your passport, you must get a new e-visa.

How do I use the e-visa to enter Uzbekistan?

To enter Uzbekistan with an e-visa, you are allowed to pass through any of the country’s border checkpoints. Upon arrival, you should have a printed version of your e-visa ready to present, along with the passport you used during the e-visa application process. It’s not necessary to attach the e-visa to your passport. Additionally, it’s essential to have a paper copy of your e-visa on hand during your travels within Uzbekistan, as digital versions on electronic devices like smartphones are not accepted.

How do I get an e-visa?

Securing an e-visa for Uzbekistan is a straightforward process through the official e-visa portal provided by the Uzbek government. The portal offers guidance in three languages: English, Russian, and Uzbek, catering to a broad range of applicants.

Step 1: Application Submission
Initiate your e-visa application by accessing the portal and filling out the required form. You’ll need to input personal details, specify your intended arrival date in Uzbekistan, and upload a passport-style photo along with a scan of your passport. Should you hail from a nation that enjoys visa-free travel to Uzbekistan under a bilateral agreement, the portal will cease the application and inform you that a visa isn’t necessary.

Step 2: Application Confirmation and Payment
Once you’ve entered all necessary information, you’ll be asked to provide an email address where a temporary link and access code for your application will be sent. Using this code on the portal, you can proceed to pay the e-visa fee. A confirmation email will follow, acknowledging the receipt of your payment.

Step 3: E-Visa Issuance
The review period for your e-visa application typically spans two business days, not counting the submission day. Post-processing, you’ll be notified via email regarding the outcome.
If approved, you’ll receive your e-visa as a PDF document, which you can either store on your mobile device or print out for border presentation. Conversely, if your application is declined, you’ll be informed by email, with possible reasons including inaccuracies in your application, data mismatches, or specific legal stipulations of Uzbekistan. It’s important to note that the e-visa fee is non-refundable, irrespective of the application’s result.

Additional details and information

When applying for an e-visa to Uzbekistan, it’s crucial that applicants provide precise and truthful information throughout the process. Here’s a simplified guide to ensure a smooth application:

  • Accuracy of Information: Applicants bear full responsibility for the correctness of their submitted details and the information they receive during the e-visa procurement process.
  • Payment Method Flexibility: There’s no requirement for applicants to own the VISA card used for the e-visa fee payment.
  • Reapplication Fees: Should you need to apply for another e-visa in the future, a new fee will be applicable for each submission.
  • Passport Validity: E-visas must be linked to a valid passport. If your passport is renewed, a new e-visa must be obtained.
  • Dual Citizenship: For dual citizens, ensure you use the passport details that you will travel with to enter Uzbekistan. On the e-visa form, it’s best to skip the ‘Citizenship of other states’ section to avoid technical glitches.
  • Eligibility Variations: Some nationalities may not qualify for the streamlined visa process. Selecting such a country during the e-visa application will prompt a notification to the relevant Uzbek embassy or consulate.
  • Email Notifications: All communications, including confirmations and updates about your e-visa status, will be sent to the email address you provide. Hence, double-check your email input for accuracy.
  • Technical Support: In case of any technical issues on the portal, applicants can reach out for assistance at (+998 71) 200-00-88 or via email at info@evisa.gov.uz.

Remember, these guidelines are designed to facilitate your entry into Uzbekistan, so adhering to them is key for a successful visit.
