I did it ))
In the morning I arrived at Mizdakhan. As I mentioned earlier, it’s an archaeological complex of ancient structures. It’s huge — the territory is over 200 hectares, the latest burials date back to the 13th century, and the earliest… well, basically next to the dinosaurs.
It’s surprising that this necropolis is still active — there’s a 13th-century mausoleum, and right next to it a grave from the 2000s.
There’s also the hill of Jumart Kassab, which used to serve — and still serves (I left a small offering there too, just in case 😄) — as a place of worship and ritual practices. According to legend, Adam is buried beneath it.
A couple of kilometers from the necropolis, there’s the fortress of Gyaur Kala — also an amazing place.
Did you just take a taxi and go there on your own?
Yes, from Nukus I took a Yandex taxi — 70,000 soum (around $6), and on the way back some driver gave me a lift to Khodjeyli, and from there I took Yandex again.
And how did you even get to Nukus?
From Bukhara I got to Khiva, then to Nukus — and from there it’s basically within reach ))
Not many people make it to Nukus, even though it’s actually a very good city.
