I have a question about Navoiy. We’ll have 10 days, flying into Samarkand and departing from Bukhara, traveling by train. Is it worth stopping in Navoiy for two nights along the way (so far I haven’t found anything interesting there except petroglyphs). Because 5 days in Samarkand and 5 days in Bukhara seems like a bit too much.
If you’re traveling by car, then it’s worth it. The city itself has almost no attractions — it’s industrial. In which month are you planning to go, and what are you most interested in?
No, by train. We’re mainly interested in nature and history. We’ll be there between March 28 and April 7, so Navoiy would be around April 1–3.
In the Jarakuduk area (Mingbulak Depression), in the territory of the Uchkuduk district of Navoiy region, there is a “stone forest.” But I have no idea how to get there. I haven’t been there myself… They used to bring back pieces of petrified wood from there, and even teeth of ancient sharks.
There’s also a cave where onyx used to be mined, for example.

The Jarakuduk area is located approximately 90 km west of Uchkuduk. Approximate coordinates: 42.114711, 62.679818. Here everything is described in detail — directions and photos are provided: https://www.drive2.ru/b/660700111617138154/
