We are planning a 7-10 day trip for spring. One option is Osh-Tashkent (we found flights to these cities from Novosibirsk).

However, I couldn’t find any reports or routes for this direction.

What is this route like? Is it just big highways? Are there places to camp along the way?
Is there anything worth seeing, or is it just a straightforward drive?

That’s because this is a non-touristy part of Uzbekistan. Most travelers go for the Tashkent–Samarkand–Bukhara–Khiva route or vice versa.

It’s mostly endless fields, gardens, and small villages. Try Googling “Fergana Valley.”

Andijan, Fergana with Margilan, and Kokand. To be honest, this route is for fans of Central Asia and its history. You won’t find any particularly remarkable landmarks here.

There isn’t much of interest in Fergana. However, Margilan has a fascinating silk factory where guided tours are available. After that, it’s best to fly. There are inexpensive flights to Tashkent from Fergana and Andijan.

Driving takes a long time, and the scenery gets monotonous pretty quickly—corn and cotton fields, and rolling hills that look more like mounds.

You need to reach Andijan or Fergana, then take a train or shared taxi straight to Tashkent. There’s nothing worth doing in those cities. You can also find cheap flights (around $15-20) if you book in advance.

By the way, Osh itself is quite an interesting city—it’s worth dedicating at least a couple of days to exploring.
