Travelers, good afternoon! Maybe someone has taken train 055 from Khiva to Tashkent. Is it really that awful?) We only managed to get tickets for it, from Bukhara to Tashkent, and now I tried to find at least some info about the train, but basically nothing positive. We decided to buy masks just in case. We have someone with asthma, we booked SV, and there’s no information about this carriage at all. Maybe someone can enlighten us. Thank you in advance.
The coupe carriages are quite old and worn, but overall clean.
Amenities are minimal: no air conditioning, no curtains, and often no sockets in the compartment (charging is in the corridor).
The toilets are standard, spacious, clean, but the plumbing is in poor condition; they are closed at stations.
The corridors are relatively tidy, with floor covering.
Differences compared to Russian trains:
Possible transfers to another compartment (for example, based on passengers’ gender).
Noise, dust, and drafts due to open windows and lack of air conditioning.
It can get cold at night because of drafts.

Hello! We traveled on trains 058 and 056, both platzkart and coupe. In both, there was AC and everything was decent. The coupe was actually great. Even in platzkart there were charging points at the seats.
They even prohibit operating buses without AC, I think it’s mandatory on all trains too. Because even during stops it gets very stuffy when the AC is off. But the windows could be opened.
Over the past few years, they’ve renewed almost the entire rolling stock. It should be decent.
No, we just took a coupe, not even SV. About 3,500 rubles (≈ $38) per berth. In platzkart there were 2 downsides: you can’t sit on the upper berth; and the berths are short, so lots of legs stick out into the aisle on the way to your seat) Had to walk through a kind of leg obstacle course)) In the coupe the AC was very strong, it was actually cold on the upper berth. It was around 19°C in the compartment, we asked to increase the temperature.
