I'm coming to Tashkent for a week. Can you advise where to buy good kazy (horse sausage)?

Either the Chor Su market, or Kazy Bazaar.

Price is a tricky question. It all depends on the weight, whether it's boiled or smoked, or semi-finished (raw). I think starting from 80,000 sum for sausage and up.
And Kazy Bazaar is on the small ring road, near the paint factory. When you're there, walk along the street, and don't rush to buy right away to pick what you need. And at Chor Su, you can totally buy if you know how to choose. Good luck!

Sorry to bother, but how to know if it's fresh? When choosing kazy, should I pay attention to color, smell, or how to choose fresh? Please advise.

It's always fresh there because it sells out quick. In the busy spots, sellers keep their reputation, I never check the meat when buying from my guy.
By the way, I'll add a couple more points about kazy. In ancient times, steppe folks could dry kazy. Now there's also dried kazy available, just ask around. Such a product can be stored for a very very long time. And by the way, often tastier than the regular kind. People went with caravans to India and carried kazy without fearing it would spoil. And generally, dried meat is a whole separate topic.
