I’m planning a long road trip with a Russian car and Russian citizenship, following the route Russia-Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-Russia. I’m particularly interested in the border crossing between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. I need to travel from Bishkek to Fergana, so it would be most convenient to find a border checkpoint in the area marked on the map.
However, the information on the border services’ websites for both countries is contradictory regarding which crossings are currently operating as international checkpoints in this region. I’d appreciate any insights from locals or recent travelers who have passed through there. Thank you.
Foreigners can only cross from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan in their own car via the city of Osh.

Good day. The checkpoint in question (Uchkorgon–Shamaldysai) is permitted for use only by locals—that is, citizens of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The only place where you may be able to cross the border is the Dostuk checkpoint near Osh, as it is designated as an international crossing.
Please also keep in mind that most rental car agencies allow vehicles to be driven only within Kyrgyzstan. Be sure to check in advance whether the agency will permit cross-border travel with their vehicle.

Le seul endroit où vous pourriez éventuellement traverser la frontière est le poste de Dostuk, près d’Och, car il s’agit d’un poste international.
