Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a comprehensive city tour of Baku at 10:00 AM. Your first stop will be Highland Park, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city and the Caspian Sea. Next, immerse yourself in the rich history of the Old City, known as Icherisheher. Here, you’ll find numerous historical sites, including the magnificent Palace of the Shirvanshahs and the iconic Maiden Tower. If you wish, you can indulge in a traditional lunch at a local restaurant (additional fee applies).
From 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, take a leisurely stroll along Baku Boulevard, a favorite spot for both locals and tourists, celebrated for its scenic beauty and cultural significance. The day will conclude with a visit to the Heydar Aliyev Center, a stunning architectural masterpiece designed by the renowned Zaha Hadid, which houses various cultural exhibitions. Return to your hotel by 6:30 PM for a restful evening and an overnight stay in Baku.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and set off for Ganja, located 365 kilometers from Baku. This journey will take approximately five hours. Ganja, known as a historical and cultural treasure, was once a vital trade hub along ancient caravan routes. Upon entering the city, you will be welcomed by the mausoleum of the famous poet Nizami Ganjavi, a significant pilgrimage site for literary enthusiasts.
Check in at your hotel and prepare for an unforgettable visit to the Sheikh Bahauddin architectural ensemble, a remarkable 17th-century complex that includes a caravanserai, the Juma Mosque, and the Cheyak-Hamam, a historical bathhouse now recognized as a UNESCO cultural monument. Next, head to Goygol National Park, home to the stunning Goygol Lake, which was formed in the 12th century following an earthquake that altered the landscape. Surrounded by lush forests, the lake offers breathtaking views and a tranquil atmosphere, perfect for nature enthusiasts. After a day filled with exploration, return to Ganja for an overnight stay.
After breakfast and check-out, we will depart from Ganja and make our way back to Baku. En route, we will stop at the Gobustan Historical and Archaeological Reserve, famous for its well-preserved petroglyphs that date back thousands of years. These rock carvings provide a fascinating insight into prehistoric human life in the region. Before exploring the petroglyphs, you’ll visit the interactive museum, where multimedia exhibits and touch screens will enhance your understanding of Gobustan’s rich history and the significance of its ancient rock art.
