Stop 1: Ikalto Monastery and Academy
Our first stop is the ancient Ikalto Monastery, once one of the most important cultural and educational centers of medieval Georgia. Founded in the 6th century and flourishing in the 12th century, this serene complex was the alma mater of Georgia’s national poet, Shota Rustaveli.
