World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan: Program Updates

Festivals in Kyrgyzstan

Below is the preliminary program of the World Nomad Games, one of the most anticipated international cultural and sporting events celebrating the heritage of nomadic civilizations. Please note that the schedule is not final and may still be subject to changes as preparations continue.

At the moment, the ticket price for the opening ceremony has not yet been announced. Organizers are still finalizing details, including the scale and format of the ceremony, which traditionally combines spectacular performances, historical symbolism, and modern stage production.

It is also not yet confirmed whether the closing ceremony will take place on the shores of Issyk-Kul Lake or in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. Issyk-Kul, often referred to as the “pearl of Central Asia,” is a natural amphitheater surrounded by mountains and has hosted some of the most visually striking moments of previous Games. Bishkek, on the other hand, offers larger urban infrastructure and accessibility, making it a practical alternative for a grand finale.

What is already clear is that entrance to the competitions themselves is planned to be free of charge. This decision reflects the core philosophy of the World Nomad Games — openness, cultural exchange, and accessibility for both local residents and international visitors. Guests will be able to watch traditional equestrian sports, national wrestling styles, intellectual games, and demonstrations of ancient nomadic skills without purchasing tickets.

As more details become available, including confirmed venues and ceremonial arrangements, the program will be updated accordingly. Travelers planning to attend are encouraged to follow official announcements and consider combining the Games with exploration of Issyk-Kul’s resort towns, mountain gorges, and Bishkek’s cultural landmarks.
