Bird Festival 2025: A Celebration of Nature, Birds, and Community in Issyk-Kul

Yntymak, Issyk-Kul Region, Kyrgyzstan – August 22–24, 2025

Hunting Birds Festival

Nature lovers, birdwatching enthusiasts, and eco-conscious travelers are invited to flock to one of Kyrgyzstan’s most scenic regions this August for the much-anticipated Bird Festival 2025, a vibrant three-day event blending ornithology, environmental awareness, and traditional local culture. Hosted in the breathtaking Kushta Micro-Reserve, near the village of Yntymak in Issyk-Kul oblast, this non-commercial event promises a memorable immersion into the wild beauty of the Kyrgyz landscape.

The festival’s centerpiece is its interactive birdwatching sessions, led by professional ornithologists. Participants will use binoculars to spot and catalog local bird species, contributing to a real-time bird inventory and census. Early morning excursions on Days 2 and 3 will take attendees through eco-trails, allowing them to witness the region’s avian diversity up close, all while learning from leading experts in the field.
