The chain of authentic Uzbek cuisine restaurants Lali (Novikov Group & Family Garden) is launching a large-scale “Samsa Festival.”
📆 From March 23 to April 5, guests in Tashkent will be able to try samsa the way it is prepared in different regions of Uzbekistan — from Namangan to Bukhara.
In Uzbekistan, samsa is not just one dish, but an entire gastronomic culture. Each region has its own shapes, dough, and fillings. The team led by brand chef Ruslan Italmazov has brought together 7 unique recipes to showcase the full diversity of this beloved dish.
What you can try:
• Namangan-style — pear-shaped, with pork loin, beef, and lamb fat, baked in a tandoor
• Samarkand-style — square, layered pastry, with beef and lamb
• Surkhandarya (Denov) — rectangular, with meat and Uzbek lemon
• Bukhara-style — drop-shaped, with tomatoes and beef
• Tashkent-style — classic triangular, with lamb
• Karshi-style — crescent-shaped, with vegetables and meat
• Kokand-style (braided samsa) — served in a bowl, with rich meat filling and spices
🔥 A special feature of the festival is the authentic cooking methods: tandoor ovens and stone-deck ovens, which bring out the true flavor of samsa.
📍 In Tashkent, the festival will take place at:
Yunusabad district, Kiyot residential area, 57B
✨ The “Samsa Festival” is a chance to rediscover a familiar dish and taste it the way it is prepared in different regions of the country.
