Central Exhibition Hall of the Academy of Arts

Nestled in the vibrant core of Tashkent, a short stroll from the elegant Lotte City Hotel Tashkent Palace, stands the Central Exhibition Hall of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan. Since its inauguration in 1974, this venue has become one of the most expansive exhibition spaces in Central Asia, boasting an area of 2,500 square meters. Its vast and luminous galleries serve as a canvas for the works of Uzbekistan’s esteemed artists, as well as a platform for emerging talents who are weaving traditional Uzbek visual artistry with contemporary threads.

The architectural design of the Central Exhibition Hall is as captivating as the art it houses. The facade is adorned with national motifs, while the interior is bathed in natural light that filters through the ceiling windows, casting a serene glow on the massive columns and marble finishes that underscore the grandeur of the space. The heart of the building is dedicated to a hall for sculptures and graphics, encircled by upper-level galleries featuring paintings and applied arts.

Adjacent to the hall lies a quaint park, home to an open-air gallery where sculptures—and on sunny days, paintings—bask in the natural ambiance. This outdoor space is a harmonious extension of the artistic experience within the walls of the Central Exhibition Hall.

The Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, the guardian of this cultural hub, actively orchestrates exhibitions and cultural events that bolster the fine and applied arts within the nation. Annually, the Central Exhibition Hall transforms into the epicenter for prestigious events such as the Tashkent Biennale, the «Navkiron Uzbekistan» art festival, and Fine Arts Week FAW+5. These gatherings draw an international audience of artists, sculptors, and photographers, making the Central Exhibition Hall a crossroads of creativity and cultural exchange.
