Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Dushanbe and City Tour

Upon arrival at Dushanbe International Airport, your guide will warmly welcome you and accompany you to your hotel in the city. The entire day is dedicated to exploring the highlights of the Tajik capital. Begin your tour at the picturesque Rudaki Park and visit iconic landmarks such as the National Library, White House, National State Seal, and House of Parliament. Continue to the Jomi Theatre, an architectural gem.

Afterward, stroll through the expansive National Park, where you’ll encounter the Ministry of Inner Affairs building and the world’s tallest national flagpole, standing at an impressive height of 165 meters. Next, immerse yourself in Tajik history and culture at the Central Museum. Following lunch, discover the unique Gurminj Museum, renowned for its collection of traditional musical instruments.

Day 2Dushanbe – Norak – Kalai Khum

Day 5:Iskanderkul – Khujand

Khujand, situated on the banks of the Syr Darya River at the edge of the Fergana Valley, boasts a population of approximately 149,000 and serves as the administrative center of Sughd Province. Day 6:Khujand – Tashkent

Day 7:Tashkent - Urgench - Khiva

Upon reaching Bukhara, you’ll have free time to unwind and explore the city at your leisure. Spend the evening soaking in the city’s vibrant atmosphere before retreating to your hotel for the night.

Day 9:Bukhara

This day is devoted entirely to the historical wonders of Bukhara. Begin with a visit to the Ismail Samani Mausoleum, a masterpiece of early Islamic architecture. Then, explore the charming Chor-Minor Madrassah, followed by the sacred Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum. A visit to the bustling local bazaar will immerse you in the vibrant culture of the city.

Your journey continues with the Poi-Kalon Ensemble, a stunning complex that includes the iconic Kalon Minaret, Jome Mosque, and Miri-Arab Madrassah. In the afternoon, discover the Lyab-i-Hauz Ensemble, Nadir Divanbegi Madrassah, and Magoki Attari Mosque. Visits to the Ulugh Beg and Abdul Azizkhan Madrassahs, as well as the Ark Fortress and Bolo-Hauz Mosque, round out the day. Overnight will be at a hotel in Bukhara.

Day 10:Bukhara - Samarkand

The morning marks the beginning of your journey to Samarkand, approximately 268 kilometers away. Along the way, you’ll stop at the Gijguvan Ceramic Museum and Workshop, showcasing the artistry of Abdulla Narzullaev. Photo stops will also be made at cotton fields, a cotton factory, and the ancient Rabat Malik Caravanserai, a historic resting place for Silk Road traders.

Upon arrival in Samarkand, you’ll have free time to explore this legendary city. Overnight accommodation will be in a local hotel.

Day 11:Samarkand

A full day of sightseeing awaits in Samarkand, the jewel of Tamerlane’s empire. Start with a visit to the Guri Amir Mausoleum, the final resting place of Tamerlane and his descendants. Next, marvel at the grandeur of Registan Square, home to three renowned madrassahs and the Golden Mosque.

Other highlights include the stunning Bibi Khanum Mosque and the vibrant Siyab Bazaar. The afternoon will be dedicated to the Shahi-Zinda Necropolis, a revered cemetery containing mausoleums of the Timurid dynasty and the grave of Prophet Muhammad’s cousin. Finally, visit the Ulughbek Observatory, a testament to the scientific achievements of the Timurid era. After the tour, take a train back to Tashkent, where you will spend the night in a hotel.

Day 12:Tashkent - Bishkek - Ala Archa - Bishkek

Fly to Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, where a local guide will meet you for a half-day city tour. Visit notable sites such as Victory Square, Oak Park, Ala-Too Square, the History Museum, and the National Philharmonic.

In the afternoon, travel to the breathtaking Ala Archa Gorge, located within the Tian Shan mountain range, just 45 kilometers from Bishkek. Once a restricted area for VIPs, this natural park offers hiking trails and stunning panoramic views of the gorge. Return to Bishkek in the evening for a traditional dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 13:Bishkek - Son Kul Lake

The day begins with a scenic drive to Son Kul Lake, Kyrgyzstan’s second-largest lake, situated at an elevation of 3,013 meters above sea level. This high-altitude lake is surrounded by picturesque mountains and serves as a summer pasture for local nomads.

Enjoy a picnic lunch en route and, upon arrival, immerse yourself in the pristine beauty of the lake and its surroundings. Engage with nomadic families, learning about their traditional lifestyle. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be in yurts, traditional Kyrgyz dwellings made of wood and felt.

Day 14:Son Kul - Naryn

Spend a leisurely morning at Son Kul Lake, exploring the serene landscape or partaking in optional horseback riding along the shore. You’ll also have an opportunity to interact with nomadic families, gaining insight into their way of life.

After lunch, embark on a drive to Naryn, a charming town nestled in a gorge. The route offers stunning views as you traverse one of Kyrgyzstan’s most scenic mountain passes. Conclude the day with dinner at a local restaurant before settling into a guesthouse for the night.

Day 15:Naryn - Kichi Naryn - Kochkor - Tamga

In the morning, we depart for Kochkor village, a scenic drive that will offer rapidly changing landscapes, perfect for photography. As we pass through the picturesque mountains, you’ll experience the breathtaking views that Kyrgyzstan is known for. Upon arrival in Kochkor, you will meet a local family that specializes in the production of traditional woolen felt carpets. You’ll have the chance to learn the art of carpet weaving and even try your hand at creating your very own piece of art alongside the skilled artisans.

Next, we’ll make a stop in Bokonbaeva village, where you will meet a local eagle hunter. This ancient nomadic tradition is still practiced today, and the hunter will demonstrate how eagles are trained to hunt hares and foxes. It’s a fascinating insight into the deep connection between the Kyrgyz people and their environment.

In the evening, we will reach the stunning Issyk Kul Lake, the second-largest alpine lake in the world, sitting at 1,608 meters above sea level. Often referred to as “the pearl of Central Asia,” the lake is surrounded by majestic mountains that offer a serene and picturesque setting. You’ll have the opportunity to walk along the shore and enjoy the spectacular views. Dinner and overnight stay will be in a guesthouse near the lake.

Day 16:Tamga - Karakol

Today, we will head to the famous Jeti Oguz gorge, known for its striking red rock formations, including the Seven Bulls (Jeti Oguz) and the iconic Broken Heart Mountain. This stunning natural landscape is perfect for hiking and photo opportunities. After exploring Jeti Oguz, we will continue our journey to Karakol, a town nestled at the foot of the Terskey Alatau Mountains.

Upon arrival in Karakol, you’ll visit the Dungan Mosque, an impressive structure built in the Chinese architectural style, notable for being constructed without the use of any metal nails. Following this, we will visit the old wooden Orthodox Church, a beautiful example of the town’s multicultural heritage.

After a day of exploration, we’ll enjoy a traditional dinner at a local guesthouse. Overnight accommodation will also be in a guesthouse, where you can unwind in a cozy and inviting setting.

Day 17:Karakol - Cholpon Ata - Issyk Kul

This morning, we will head to Issyk Kul Lake, this time traveling along its northern shore. The drive will offer a variety of perspectives of the lake, with stunning views of both the water and surrounding mountains. We will make stops along the way, including visits to the Semenovskoye and Grigorievskoye gorges, two picturesque locations that are connected at the end.

As we pass from one gorge to the other, you’ll be able to see traditional yurts and experience the beauty of nature in its purest form. We will stop frequently to rest and enjoy the serenity of the surroundings. A picnic lunch will be arranged during our travels, allowing you to savor the local cuisine amidst the stunning landscape.

After a day of exploration and relaxation, we will return to Issyk Kul Lake, where dinner and overnight accommodation will be at a comfortable hotel by the water’s edge.

Day 18:Issyk Kul Lake - Bishkek

After breakfast, we will drive back to Bishkek, the capital city of Kyrgyzstan. Along the way, we will stop to visit ancient stone inscriptions that date back to 800 B.C., offering a glimpse into the region’s rich history. Our next stop will be the Burana Tower, a historic minaret from the 11th century that once served as a landmark for travelers along the Great Silk Road. Nearby, you can explore the open-air museum of Balbans (stone warriors), which features fascinating ancient sculptures.

Upon arrival in Bishkek, we will embark on a guided city tour, visiting some of the city’s key attractions, including the bustling Asian bazar, where you can shop for local handicrafts and fresh produce. After the tour, we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional Kyrgyz restaurant, offering a taste of the country’s rich culinary heritage.

Overnight will be in a hotel in Bishkek, where you can relax after a full day of sightseeing.

Day 19:Bishkek - Airport

On the final day of your journey, you will have a transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Depending on your flight time, you may have some free time to explore Bishkek on your own or relax before your departure.
