On February 21, 2026, the village of Bokonbaevo, located on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake, will host a striking celebration of Kyrgyz nomadic heritage. The Köndöy Hippodrome will become the stage for the final competitions in Salbuurun — traditional hunting with golden eagles, taigan sighthounds, and bow and arrow — alongside a series of thrilling horse races.
The event is held in memory of the legendary epic storyteller Sayakbay Karalaev, one of the greatest narrators of the Manas epic, and is organized for the prize of the Akim of Ton District.
