Upon arrival at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan, your driver will meet you for a comfortable transfer to your hotel, where check-in is available from noon. After some time to rest, your Armenian journey begins with an introductory city tour of Yerevan, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited capitals. Known as the “Pink City” for its distinct rose-colored stone architecture, Yerevan offers a unique blend of ancient heritage and Soviet-era design. Start your exploration with a visit to the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex at Tsitsernakaberd, a powerful site commemorating the victims of 1915. Continue to the striking Cascade Monument, a massive staircase of 572 steps offering panoramic views of the city and snow-capped Mount Ararat. Stroll past major landmarks including the Opera House, Republic Square, and Abovyan Avenue. Enjoy a traditional welcome dinner at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel for the night.
Today starts with a scenic drive to the ancient village of Garni, home to the only surviving pagan temple in Armenia. Built in the 1st century and dedicated to Mihr, the sun god, the Greco-Roman style temple is a rare example of pre-Christian architecture in the region. Descend into the Garni Gorge to witness the natural wonder known as the Symphony of Stones—a striking rock formation of vertical basalt columns resembling a pipe organ. The journey continues to Geghard Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site partially carved into the mountainside and founded by Saint Gregory the Illuminator. Your final destination today is the spiritual center of Echmiadzin*, considered the oldest cathedral in the world. Visit the main Cathedral, the residence of the Catholicos, and a museum of precious religious relics. Return to Yerevan for an overnight stay.
*Note: Echmiadzin Cathedral is currently under renovation.
After breakfast, depart for the historic Khor Virap Monastery, dramatically situated with panoramic views of Mount Ararat. This sacred site marks the place where Saint Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for 14 years, eventually leading to Armenia’s adoption of Christianity as a state religion in 301 AD. Continue to Areni, a village known for its ancient wine-making tradition. Visit the Areni-1 Cave Complex, where archaeologists uncovered the world’s oldest leather shoe. Then head to Noravank, a stunning monastery nestled among vivid red cliffs that offer a beautiful natural backdrop. The day concludes with a visit to Karahunj (Carahunge), often dubbed the Armenian Stonehenge. This prehistoric observatory features over 200 upright stones, some with mysterious circular holes. Arrive in Goris in the evening and settle into your hotel for the night.
Your morning begins with a visit to the Tatev Monastery, perched above the Vorotan Gorge. To reach this remote religious complex, you will ride the “Wings of Tatev,” the longest reversible cable car in the world (5,700 meters). Dating back to the 9th century, Tatev was once a major spiritual and educational hub in medieval Armenia. Next, explore the cave village of Khndzoresk, a once-thriving settlement where homes were carved into the cliffs and connected by ropes and wooden bridges. Wander among the cave dwellings and soak in the history and spectacular scenery. Afterward, drive to the spa town of Jermuk, known for its therapeutic mineral waters and natural beauty. Overnight in Jermuk.
After breakfast, the journey continues through the high-altitude Selim Pass. Stop at Orbelian’s Caravanserai, a 14th-century rest stop for traders and travelers along the historic Silk Road. Then proceed to Noratus Cemetery, a field of intricately carved khachkars (Armenian cross-stones) that reflect centuries of spiritual artistry. The next destination is Sevanavank Monastery, perched on a rocky peninsula along Lake Sevan’s northwest shore. Lake Sevan, one of the world’s largest high-altitude freshwater lakes, is surrounded by majestic mountains and offers a peaceful retreat. After exploring the monastery and enjoying the tranquil landscape, drive back to Yerevan. Overnight at the hotel.
On your final day, enjoy breakfast at the hotel before checking out by noon. Your driver will transfer you to Zvartnots International Airport for your departure flight, bringing your unforgettable journey through Armenia to a close.

This tour exceeded all my expectations. From the pink stone buildings of Yerevan to the peaceful shores of Lake Sevan, every location offered something special. I loved walking across the swinging bridge in Khndzoresk and seeing the ancient khachkars in Noratus. The visit to the Genocide Memorial was emotional, but necessary—it deepened my understanding of Armenian resilience. Our guide was warm, professional, and shared so much insight into Armenian traditions. Thank you for this unforgettable journey!
The 6-day Armenia Classic Tour was a beautiful revelation. I was amazed by how diverse Armenia is—one moment we were exploring a Greco-Roman temple, the next tasting wine in a village cave! The guides were extremely knowledgeable and passionate, making each stop meaningful. I especially loved Tatev Monastery—riding the world’s longest tramway was thrilling and the views were jaw-dropping. The stay in Goris was peaceful, and I appreciated how well-paced the entire itinerary was. The blend of history, nature, and authentic culture made every day memorable. Highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking something truly unique in the Caucasus.
