Today, we will explore the stunning landscapes of the Greater Baku and Absheron Peninsula. Your adventure begins at Yanardag Mountain, known for its eternal flames fueled by natural gas. Next, visit Ateshgah, the ancient temple of fire-worshippers located in Surakhany, where Zoroastrians from India make pilgrimages to honor the sacred fire. After a delightful lunch, you will head to Gobustan National Park, home to remarkable petroglyphs dating back to 10,000 BC, which you will explore at the Petroglyphs Museum. If weather permits, we will venture to the fascinating mud volcanoes, a unique natural phenomenon that makes Gobustan famous, as it hosts nearly half of the world’s mud volcanoes.
