During this special New Year program, you will discover some of the country’s most remarkable cultural and historical treasures. Explore the fascinating cave city of Uplistsikhe, once an important stop along the legendary Silk Road, stroll through the atmospheric streets of Tbilisi’s Old Town, and admire iconic landmarks such as Narikala Fortress, Metekhi Church, and the ancient churches that tell the story of Georgia’s rich past.

The journey also takes you to Kakheti, Georgia’s celebrated wine-producing region. Here you will enjoy authentic encounters with local families, taste traditional homemade dishes, learn about the famous Georgian winemaking method recognized by UNESCO, and experience the legendary Georgian feast known as the “Supra,” complete with heartfelt toasts and local hospitality.

One of the highlights of the tour is celebrating New Year’s Eve in Tbilisi, when the capital transforms into a festive wonderland filled with sparkling decorations, colorful lights, holiday markets, and joyful celebrations. Day 129 December 2026: Departure for Tbilisi

Your holiday adventure begins with a flight to Georgia’s vibrant capital, Tbilisi. Upon arrival, transfer arrangements are available according to the selected travel package. Prepare to discover a country renowned for its ancient traditions, warm hospitality, exceptional cuisine, and unique New Year celebrations.

Day 230 December 2026: Along the Silk Road and Georgia’s Wine Heritage

Arrival in the early morning and transfer to the hotel. After breakfast and some time to refresh, the journey begins with an excursion to the remarkable cave town of Uplistsikhe. Dating back to the 1st millennium BC, this extraordinary rock-hewn settlement was once an important trading center situated along one of the branches of the legendary Silk Road. Walking through its carved streets, halls, tunnels, and ancient structures offers a fascinating glimpse into Georgia’s distant past.

The tour continues to the city of Gori, best known as the birthplace of Joseph Stalin. A brief stop near the museum dedicated to the Soviet leader provides an opportunity to learn about this controversial historical figure and take photographs of the museum complex.

Later, guests visit a traditional Georgian winery, where they are introduced to the country’s 8,000-year-old winemaking culture. Here, wines produced using the ancient qvevri method—recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage—are tasted and explained by local experts.

In the evening, return to Tbilisi. Free time for dinner and overnight stay in the capital.

Day 3:31 December 2026: New Year’s Eve in Tbilisi

After breakfast, enjoy a comprehensive exploration of Tbilisi, one of the most charming and atmospheric cities in the Caucasus. The capital’s architecture beautifully combines Eastern and Western influences, reflecting centuries of cultural exchange.

The walking tour begins in the historic Old Town, where narrow streets, colorful balconies, and ancient churches create a distinctive atmosphere. Highlights include the medieval Metekhi Church, the historic Sioni Cathedral, and Anchiskhati Basilica, the oldest surviving church in the city.

Weather and technical conditions permitting, a cable car ride takes visitors to the ancient Narikala Fortress, perched high above the city and offering magnificent panoramic views. The tour then continues to the famous sulphur bath district, whose thermal springs gave Tbilisi its name.

The remainder of the day is free to enjoy the festive atmosphere. During the holiday season, Tbilisi transforms into a magical destination illuminated by thousands of lights, decorations, and Christmas displays. Celebrate New Year’s Eve in the heart of the Georgian capital and experience the joyful spirit of the local festivities.

Day 4:1 January 2027: New Year Greetings from Kakheti

 

Following Georgia’s traditional New Year celebrations, which often continue late into the night, the morning is intentionally relaxed. Later, departure for Kakheti, Georgia’s most famous wine-producing region and a place renowned for its hospitality.

The first stop is the picturesque hilltop town of Sighnaghi, surrounded by impressive defensive walls and watchtowers. Often called the “City of Love,” Sighnaghi offers stunning views over the Alazani Valley and the snow-capped Caucasus Mountains beyond.

A special highlight of the day is a visit to a welcoming local family. Guests are invited into a traditional Georgian home to enjoy an authentic homemade lunch prepared according to regional recipes. The meal is served in the style of a traditional Georgian “Supra,” a festive feast led by a toastmaster known as the Tamada, who proposes heartfelt toasts and shares local customs.

This unique cultural encounter provides a genuine insight into Georgian family traditions and everyday life. In the afternoon, return to Tbilisi.

Free evening and overnight stay in the capital.

Day 5:2 January 2027: Ancient Capital and the Georgian Military Highway

After breakfast, travel to Mtskheta, one of Georgia’s oldest cities and its spiritual center. With a history spanning nearly three millennia, Mtskheta is home to some of the country’s most revered religious monuments and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The visit includes the magnificent Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, traditionally believed to house the Robe of Christ, and the hilltop Jvari Monastery, which offers spectacular views over the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers.

Following lunch, continue along the famous Georgian Military Highway, one of the most scenic roads in the Caucasus. Along the route, visit the historic Ananuri Fortress Complex, beautifully situated above the turquoise waters of the Jinvali Reservoir. The combination of medieval architecture and snow-covered mountain landscapes creates unforgettable photo opportunities.

Return to Tbilisi in the late afternoon. The evening is free to explore the city, enjoy Georgian cuisine, or relax after a memorable day of sightseeing.

Day 6:3 January 2027: Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Tbilisi International Airport for your return flight home.
