Built during the eleventh century, this impressive cathedral dominates the surrounding landscape and remains a significant spiritual center for the region. Its elegant architecture and historical importance make it one of the highlights of Kakheti.

The route then turns northward toward the Greater Caucasus Mountains. As the scenery changes from vineyards and fertile plains to dramatic mountain valleys, the journey becomes increasingly spectacular. Travel along sections of Georgia’s legendary Military Highway, one of the country’s most scenic roads, which has connected Georgia with the northern Caucasus for centuries.

Travel north along the Georgian Military Highway towards Stepantsminda, a picturesque mountain town nestled beneath the towering peaks of the Caucasus. Throughout the drive, enjoy magnificent views of dramatic valleys, rugged cliffs, mountain rivers, and distant snow-covered summits.

Upon arrival in Stepantsminda, begin a scenic hike to the famous Gergeti Trinity Church, one of Georgia’s most photographed and recognizable monuments.
