Embark on an unforgettable six-day adventure through Georgia, one of Europe’s most fascinating and least-explored destinations. Nestled between Europe and Asia, this remarkable country captivates visitors with its ancient churches, spectacular mountain scenery, world-famous hospitality, and a winemaking tradition that stretches back more than 8,000 years. Rich in history yet wonderfully authentic, Georgia offers a unique blend of cultural treasures, breathtaking landscapes, and memorable encounters with local people.

Your journey begins in the vibrant capital of Tbilisi, a city where medieval churches, colorful wooden balconies, elegant avenues, and historic bathhouses coexist alongside modern architecture. Wander through charming old neighborhoods, discover centuries-old fortresses, and experience the lively atmosphere that makes Tbilisi one of the Caucasus region’s most enchanting capitals.

Travel into the picturesque Kakheti region, considered the cradle of wine. Here, fertile valleys meet the snow-capped peaks of the Greater Caucasus, creating some of the country’s most beautiful scenery. Enjoy a traditional lunch with a local family, learn about rural Georgian life, and sample wines produced using the ancient qvevri method, recognized by UNESCO as part of the world’s intangible cultural heritage.

The tour continues to some of Georgia’s most important historical landmarks, including the UNESCO-listed monuments of Mtskheta, the ancient spiritual heart of the nation. Explore the fascinating cave city of Uplistsikhe, once a major stop along the legendary Silk Road, before heading into the majestic Caucasus Mountains via the famous Georgian Military Highway.

One of the highlights of the journey is a visit to the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church, dramatically perched high above the mountain town of Stepantsminda beneath the towering summit of Mount Kazbek. Along the way, admire stunning alpine landscapes, medieval fortresses, and crystal-clear mountain reservoirs.

This tour is specially designed for Spanish-speaking travelers and features guaranteed departure dates, allowing you to plan your trip with complete confidence. Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Tbilisi

Upon arrival at Tbilisi International Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel in the capital of Georgia. This first day is designed for rest after your journey and for a gentle introduction to the atmosphere of the city. Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to relax at the hotel or take a short independent walk to get your first impressions of Tbilisi, a city known for its warm hospitality, contrasting architecture, and lively streets. Overnight stay in Tbilisi.

Day 2Tbilisi City Discovery and Kakheti Wine Region

After breakfast, meet your guide and begin a full-day excursion into the picturesque Kakheti region, the heart of Georgian winemaking traditions. This area is widely regarded as the cradle of wine, where viticulture has been practiced for thousands of years. The landscape combines fertile valleys, vineyards, and dramatic views of the nearby Caucasus Mountains.

The highlight of the day is a visit to Sighnaghi, a charming hilltop town often referred to as the “City of Love.” Surrounded by well-preserved defensive walls and towers from the 18th century, Sighnaghi features narrow cobblestone streets, traditional houses, and wooden balconies. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views over the Alazani Valley and the distant mountain ranges.

A special cultural experience awaits in a local family home, where guests are invited to enjoy a traditional Georgian lunch. Prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients grown in the family’s own garden, the meal offers an authentic insight into rural life and Georgian culinary traditions. This warm hospitality creates an unforgettable cultural connection with local people.

Later, continue to a traditional winery, where you will learn about the ancient qvevri wine-making method. Wine fermented in large clay vessels buried underground is a UNESCO-recognized tradition, deeply rooted in Georgian identity. Enjoy a guided tasting of local wines before returning to Tbilisi for overnight accommodation.

Day 3:Exploring Tbilisi: History, Culture and Architecture

Today is dedicated to discovering the vibrant capital city of Tbilisi. A fascinating blend of ancient heritage and modern development, the city reflects influences from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

Begin your sightseeing at the historic Metekhi Church, dramatically located above the Mtkvari River, offering scenic views of the old town. Continue through the narrow streets of the historic district, where colorful houses, ornate balconies, and hidden courtyards reveal the city’s unique charm.

Proceed to the iconic Narikala Fortress, one of Tbilisi’s oldest landmarks, which provides panoramic views over the entire city. Nearby, explore the famous sulphur bath district, known for its natural hot springs and traditional bathhouses that have given the city its name.

The tour continues along Rustaveli Avenue, the main cultural artery of Tbilisi, lined with museums, theatres, cafés, and elegant buildings. The remainder of the day is free for personal exploration or relaxation. Overnight stay in Tbilisi.

Day 4:Ancient Capitals, Cave Cities and Mountain Landscapes

After breakfast, depart for Mtskheta, one of the oldest cities in Georgia and its former capital. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is considered the spiritual heart of the country and holds immense religious significance.

Visit the hilltop Jvari Monastery, a remarkable example of early medieval Georgian architecture, offering spectacular views over the confluence of two rivers. Continue to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, one of the most sacred sites in Georgia, believed to house the robe of Christ.

The journey continues to Uplistsikhe, an ancient rock-hewn city dating back to the early Iron Age. Once an important hub on the Silk Road, the site features tunnels, halls, wine cellars, and ancient dwellings carved directly into the stone cliffs.

A short stop in Gori allows for an exterior visit of the Joseph Stalin Museum. Afterwards, continue along the scenic Georgian Military Highway, passing through dramatic mountain scenery before arriving in Gudauri, a high-altitude ski resort located in the Greater Caucasus. Dinner and overnight stay in Gudauri.

Day 5:Stepantsminda and the Iconic Gergeti Trinity Church

Today’s journey takes you deeper into the spectacular Caucasus Mountains. After breakfast, travel along the Tergi River toward Stepantsminda, a picturesque mountain town dominated by the majestic peak of Mount Kazbek.

From Stepantsminda, embark on a scenic hike through alpine valleys and forested landscapes to reach the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church, located at an altitude of 2,170 meters. This 14th-century church is one of Georgia’s most famous landmarks, offering breathtaking views of Mount Kazbek and the surrounding peaks. The walk provides a unique opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the high Caucasus region.

For those who prefer not to hike, a 4×4 vehicle option is available locally for an additional cost.

After the visit, return to Tbilisi via the historic Ananuri Fortress and the Jinvali Reservoir, where medieval architecture meets stunning lake scenery. Arrival in Tbilisi in the evening and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6:Departure from Tbilisi

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Tbilisi International Airport for your return flight. This concludes your Georgia Highlights Tour, leaving you with unforgettable memories of ancient history, mountain landscapes, rich culture, and warm Georgian hospitality.
