Day 1Arrival in Tbilisi – Discovering the Georgian Capital

Upon arrival at Tbilisi International Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted by our driver who will escort you to your hotel for check-in at noon. Take some time to rest and refresh after your journey before we begin an unforgettable sightseeing experience in Georgia’s vibrant capital.

Our city tour starts at the historic Metekhi Church, perched dramatically above the Mtkvari River, where we’ll also see the equestrian statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali, the legendary founder of Tbilisi. From here, ascend by cable car to the ancient Narikala Fortress, where sweeping panoramic views of the city unfold before you.

Descending from the fortress, we’ll walk through the picturesque Abanotubani district, famous for its sulphur bathhouses—a legacy of Tbilisi’s ancient thermal springs. As we wander past the city’s only mosque, we’ll head to Chateau Mukhrani Wine Studio, where you’ll be introduced to some of Georgia’s finest wines originating from the historic Mukhrani region. Enjoy a guided wine tasting in a cozy setting.

Next, explore the charming Sharden area, a lively quarter with narrow cobbled lanes, quaint cafés, art galleries, and souvenir shops. As we cross the modern Bridge of Peace, we’ll arrive at the beautifully landscaped Rike Park, blending modern design with tranquil green spaces.

In the evening, we’ll head to a traditional Georgian restaurant where you’ll enjoy your welcome dinner. Expect a delicious array of regional specialties, lively toasts, and your first full taste of Georgia’s warm hospitality.

Day 2Tbilisi – Vardisubani – Telavi – Wine, Cheese & History

After breakfast, our driver and guide will meet you at your hotel at 9:00 AM. Today, we set out eastward toward Kakheti, Georgia’s famed wine-growing region, via the scenic Gombori Pass. Enjoy stunning views of rolling hills, forests, and vineyards as we wind our way toward the heart of the Alazani Valley.

Our first stop is the village of Vardisubani, renowned for its craftsmanship in producing qvevri—traditional Georgian clay amphorae used to ferment and store wine. Here, we’ll meet a local artisan family whose generations have kept this ancient tradition alive.

Continuing to Telavi, the historical and administrative center of Kakheti, we’ll take a leisurely stroll through its old town, lined with charming homes, shops, and cafés. We’ll pause for photos at the monument to King Erekle II, one of Georgia’s most influential rulers.

Next, we’ll visit a family-owned cheese cellar, where you’ll dive into the diverse world of Georgian cheeses. Taste five distinct varieties, from soft and creamy to aged and sharp, all made using traditional recipes. A home-cooked lunch awaits us here, served with heartfelt hospitality.

Day 3:Telavi – Tsinandali – Sighnaghi – Return to Tbilisi

After checking out of the hotel, we’ll continue our exploration of Kakheti and its famed Alazani Valley. Our morning begins with a visit to Tsinandali Estate, the 19th-century residence of Prince Alexander Chavchavadze—a notable poet, public figure, and pioneer of Georgian winemaking. Discover the beautifully maintained English-style garden, an elegant manor museum, and the prince’s original wine cellar.

Enjoy a wine tasting of locally produced vintages, each reflecting the depth of Kakheti’s wine culture. For lunch, we’ll be warmly welcomed by a local family for a traditional supra—a Georgian feast. Indulge in home-cooked dishes and join in the heartfelt tradition of toasting, led by a designated tamada.

Our next destination is the romantic town of Sighnaghi, often called the “City of Love”. Perched on a hilltop and surrounded by a defensive wall with 23 towers, Sighnaghi offers cobbled streets, colorful balconies, and spectacular views of the Alazani Valley. From here, we head to Kaspi, where we’ll visit Merebashvili’s Marani, a traditional wine cellar specializing in Kartli-style winemaking. Discover the secrets of this lesser-known but historically significant wine region. We’ll enjoy a guided wine tasting and a hearty Georgian lunch served by our welcoming hosts.

Their semi-sweet red wines are rich, aromatic, and beloved across Georgia.

Later, we’ll be welcomed by another local family, where the warmth of Georgian hospitality once again takes center stage. Enjoy a generous homemade lunch featuring Rachan specialties, alongside a second round of wine tasting in their cozy home cellar, adorned with wooden balconies and local crafts.
