Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Tbilisi

Upon your arrival at Tbilisi International Airport, you will be greeted by our friendly driver who will accompany you to your hotel. As you drive through the bustling streets, you’ll get a first glimpse of Georgia’s capital—a vibrant fusion of ancient history and modern charm. After check-in at noon, you’ll have the rest of the day free to relax and settle in, or perhaps take a leisurely walk to feel the pulse of Tbilisi on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2Tbilisi City Tour

After breakfast, meet your local guide for an in-depth exploration of Tbilisi’s most iconic sights. Your journey begins at Metekhi Church, perched proudly on a cliff overlooking the Mtkvari River, near the monument of King Vakhtang Gorgasali, Tbilisi’s legendary founder.

Ascend by cable car to Narikala Fortress, where you’ll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the city’s red-roofed old town blending into modern skyline. Stroll down to the atmospheric Abanotubani district, famous for its historic sulphur bathhouses—natural hot springs that have soothed locals for centuries. Along the way, you’ll pass by Tbilisi’s only mosque, a rare symbol of the city’s multi-ethnic heritage.

Wander through the Sharden neighborhood, a charming labyrinth of narrow alleyways lined with quaint cafés, artisan shops, and wine bars, where every corner whispers stories of Georgia’s vibrant past. Visit the revered Sioni Cathedral, the oldest surviving Anchiskhati Basilica, and marvel at the whimsical clock tower of Rezo Gabriadze Theatre, a beloved city landmark.

End the day with an optional evening stroll across the futuristic Bridge of Peace into Rike Park. Return to the hotel for overnight.

Day 3:Sighnaghi & Bodbe – Romance and Spiritual Heritage of Kakheti

Today, venture east to the enchanting region of Kakheti, Georgia’s famous wine-producing area. Your destination is Sighnaghi, affectionately known as the “City of Love”. Once a vital hub along the Silk Road, this charming hilltop town is encircled by well-preserved defensive walls and 23 ancient watchtowers. Enjoy a relaxing walk through cobbled streets lined with pastel-colored houses, wooden balconies, and art galleries. From here, you’ll be treated to mesmerizing views over the Alazani Valley and the snow-capped Caucasus Mountains.

Next, visit the peaceful Bodbe Convent, a revered pilgrimage site where Saint Nino, the enlightener of Georgia, is said to be buried. The lush gardens and serene atmosphere offer a perfect place for reflection and a moment of tranquility.

In the afternoon, return to Tbilisi for an overnight stay.

Day 4:Mtskheta, Ananuri & Kazbegi – Sacred Sites and Majestic Mountains

After breakfast, set out for a day packed with Georgia’s most iconic landmarks. Your first stop is the ancient town of Mtskheta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and spiritual heart of Georgia. Visit the stunning Jvari Monastery, perched high on a hill with sweeping views of the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari Rivers. Continue to the majestic Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, the legendary burial site of Christ’s robe and a masterpiece of medieval Georgian architecture.

Proceed along the scenic Georgian Military Highway, where your next stop is the fortified Ananuri Complex, once the residence of the powerful Argveti Dukes. Admire its centuries-old stone churches, defensive towers, and the mesmerizing blue waters of the Jinvali Reservoir.

Ascending further into the mountains, pause at a vibrant mineral water spring, where colorful mineral deposits create a striking natural spectacle. Your journey culminates in Kazbegi (Stepantsminda), a picturesque mountain town nestled beneath the towering Mount Kazbek (5033 m). Board a 4WD vehicle for an exciting ride up to the legendary Gergeti Trinity Church (2170 m), an isolated yet iconic symbol of Georgia, offering unforgettable panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks.

Return to Tbilisi in the evening for your final overnight stay.

Our “Essence of Georgia” tour was simply unforgettable! From the charming streets of Tbilisi to the majestic Kazbegi mountains, every day offered something special. Our guide, Giorgi Kapanadze, was incredibly knowledgeable—he’s a certified historian with deep passion for his country’s heritage. His stories brought the ancient churches and fortresses to life. I particularly loved Sighnaghi, with its panoramic views over the Alazani Valley, and the peaceful Bodbe Convent. The highlight, however, was the Gergeti Trinity Church with its breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kazbek. The tour was well-organized, with comfortable hotels and smooth transfers. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience the heart of Georgia in a short time!

Visiting Georgia has been on my bucket list for years, and this tour exceeded all expectations. Our guide, Tamar Beridze, a professional with a degree in cultural tourism, made every site fascinating. The visit to the ancient cave city of Uplistsikhe was a personal highlight, though every stop—from Tbilisi’s old quarter to the stunning Ananuri Fortress—was memorable. The views from Jvari Monastery and Kazbegi were spectacular. Tamar’s engaging explanations and warm personality made the journey even more enjoyable. Excellent organization, comfortable pacing, and delicious local cuisine. I would definitely recommend this tour for first-time visitors wanting an authentic Georgian experience.
