Itinerary

Day 1Baku (Azerbaijan)

Upon your arrival in the vibrant city of Baku, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional driver who will escort you to your hotel for check-in and luggage drop-off. After settling in by midday, your immersive city tour begins.

Start with a visit to Martyrs Lane, locally known as ‘Shehidler Khiyabany,’ a solemn memorial site honoring those who sacrificed their lives. As you stroll along the Alley of the Martyrs, take in sweeping panoramic views overlooking the Caspian Sea coastline, a perfect introduction to Baku’s unique blend of history and natural beauty. Next, explore Icheri Sheher, the ancient walled city that forms the historic heart of Baku. Here, you will discover architectural gems such as the Shirvan Shahs’ Palace, a medieval royal residence, the Caravanserai reflecting Baku’s trading past, and the enigmatic Maiden Tower, shrouded in legends. The bustling main market square offers a lively atmosphere with numerous artisan workshops and souvenir stalls. Transition to modern Baku by wandering along Nizami Street, a lively pedestrian avenue dotted with shops and cafés, and visit the elegant Fountain Square. Conclude the day at the iconic Heydar Aliyev Center, an architectural masterpiece designed by Zaha Hadid, renowned for its flowing, futuristic form and cultural exhibitions. After a full day of exploration, return to your hotel for a restful overnight stay.

Day 2Baku – Absheron Peninsula – Gobustan – Tbilisi

Begin your day with a scenic drive around the Greater Baku area and the Absheron Peninsula, rich in natural wonders and cultural heritage. Your first destination is Yanardag Mountain, famously known as the “Burning Mountain,” where natural gas seeps have been ignited for centuries, creating a mesmerizing eternal flame. Continue to the Ateshgah Fire Temple in the village of Surakhany, an ancient Zoroastrian place of worship where fire has spiritual significance; pilgrims from India historically traveled great distances to honor this sacred flame. After a traditional lunch, proceed to Gobustan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site celebrated for its extensive collection of prehistoric rock carvings dating back over 12,000 years. Visit the Petroglyphs Museum to gain deeper insight into these ancient artworks. Weather permitting, explore the nearby mud volcanoes, unique geological phenomena that make Gobustan one of the most extraordinary natural sites globally. Following your return to Baku, take an evening flight to Tbilisi, Georgia’s charming capital. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for overnight rest.

Day 3:Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Tbilisi

After breakfast, embark on a short drive to Mtskheta, one of Georgia’s oldest towns and a UNESCO World Heritage site revered as the spiritual and religious center of the country. Visit the Jvari Monastery, a stunning early medieval church perched atop a hill, offering breathtaking views of the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. Explore the magnificent Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, renowned for its architectural grandeur and as the sacred site that holds the robe of Christ according to tradition. Return to Tbilisi for an extensive city tour starting with a visit to the monument of Vakhtang Gorgasali, the legendary founder of Tbilisi. Take the cable car up to Narikala Fortress, where you will be rewarded with sweeping panoramic vistas of the city. Descend on foot into the historic district known for its sulfur bathhouses, passing by Tbilisi’s only mosque, a testament to the city’s multicultural heritage. Wander through the Sharden neighborhood, characterized by narrow cobblestone streets, cozy cafés, wine bars, and artisan shops that evoke a sense of timeless charm. Continue your exploration with visits to the Sioni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica, two of the city’s oldest churches, and admire the whimsical clock tower of the Rezo Gabriadze Puppet Theatre. Cross the modern Bridge of Peace to reach Rike Park, a contemporary urban space blending nature and culture. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Georgian dinner accompanied by a lively folklore performance, immersing yourself in local music and dance before returning to your hotel for overnight.

Day 4:Tbilisi – Ananuri – Kazbegi – Tbilisi

At 9:00 am, your guide and driver will collect you from the hotel to begin a scenic journey along the historic Georgian Military Highway, a route that winds northward through the majestic Caucasus Mountains toward the Russian border. Your first stop is the Ananuri Fortress complex, a well-preserved medieval stronghold that once served as the residence of the Argveti dukes. The fortress, featuring ancient churches and defensive towers from the 16th and 17th centuries, overlooks the serene Jinvali Reservoir, creating a picturesque setting perfect for photographs. Continue your drive to witness a fascinating natural phenomenon where two mountain rivers converge yet maintain distinct colors, flowing side by side without mixing. Ascend further to the Cross Pass, situated at 2,394 meters above sea level, where you will pause at the Soviet-era “People’s Friendship” viewpoint to admire the dramatic gorge and panoramic vistas of the Caucasus range. Upon arrival in Kazbegi (Stepantsminda), transfer to a rugged four-wheel-drive vehicle to reach the iconic Gergeti Holy Trinity Church, perched at 2,170 meters altitude. This remote 14th-century church offers unparalleled views of the towering Mount Kazbek and the surrounding alpine landscape. After soaking in the breathtaking scenery, return to Tbilisi for drop-off at your hotel and overnight stay.

Day 5: Tbilisi – departure

Enjoy a leisurely morning with free time to relax or explore Tbilisi independently before checking out of your hotel by noon. When the time comes, you will be transferred to Tbilisi International Airport for your onward journey.
