Tashkent – Samarkand – Bukhara – Tashkent

Embark on a captivating 6-day journey through Uzbekistan, a land steeped in ancient history and vibrant culture. This tour offers an immersive exploration of Tashkent, Bukhara, and Samarkand—key cities along the legendary Silk Road that thrived as hubs of trade and culture. Starting in Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s modern capital, you will explore its blend of contemporary and traditional elements, from the Khast-Imam Complex housing the revered Quran of Caliph Uthman to the bustling Chorsu Bazaar.

In Bukhara, experience the charm of a city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover the architectural marvels of the Ark Fortress, the serene Lyabi-Khauz Ensemble, and the majestic Kalyan Minaret. Continue your journey to Samarkand, where you will be awestruck by the grandeur of Registan Square and the stunning Gur-Emir Mausoleum. Each city offers a unique glimpse into the past, enriched by encounters with local artisans and the chance to witness traditional crafts.

The tour also includes a special visit to the picturesque Konigil village to learn about the ancient art of paper-making. With a well-rounded mix of historical exploration and cultural experiences, this tour promises a deep connection to the rich heritage of Uzbekistan.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Tashkent

Arrive in Tashkent, where you’ll be greeted by our driver and transferred to your hotel. Check-in is at noon. Begin your exploration of Uzbekistan’s capital with a visit to the Old City, including the Khast-Imam Complex, home to the famous Quran of Caliph Uthman. Wander through the vibrant Chorsu Bazaar and enjoy a ride on the Tashkent Metro to the city center. Here, visit the Applied Arts Museum, stroll through Navoi Theater, and conclude your tour at Amir Timur Square. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Duration of sightseeing: 5-6 hours

Day 2Tashkent – Bukhara

Transfer to the railway station at 06:30 for your journey to Bukhara on the high-speed Afrosiyob train, departing at 07:30 and arriving at 11:17. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and drop off your luggage. Spend the afternoon on a guided walking tour of Bukhara’s historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit notable sites such as the Lyabi-Khauz Ensemble, Magoki-Attori Mosque, and Chor-Minor Madrasah. Explore the trade domes, Ulugbek and Abdulazizkhan Madrasahs, Kalyan Minaret, Kalyan Mosque, and Miri-Arab Madrasah. Marvel at the Ark Fortress, Bolo-Khauz Mosque, and the Ismail Samani and Chashma-Ayub Mausoleums. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3Bukhara – Samarkand

Start your day with a visit to Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa, the summer residence of Bukhara’s last emir, showcasing a fascinating blend of Oriental and Russian architecture. Continue to the Mausoleum of Bakhouddin Naqshbandi and the Chor-Bakr Necropolis. After lunch, drive to Samarkand (278 km, approximately 4 hours 20 minutes). Arrive in Samarkand, check into your hotel, and enjoy the evening at leisure.
Duration of sightseeing: 3-4 hours

Day 4Samarkand

Meet your guide and driver at the hotel for a full day exploring Samarkand. Visit the stunning Registan Square, Bibi-Khanum Mosque, and the lively Siab Bazaar. Discover the ancient Ulugbek Observatory, the Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis, and the Gur-Emir Mausoleum, the final resting place of the great Timur. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Duration of sightseeing: 6-7 hours

Day 5Samarkand – Tashkent

Check out from your hotel by noon and continue your exploration with a visit to the Afrasiab Museum and the Tomb of Saint Daniel. Drive to Konigil village to witness the traditional process of making Samarkand paper from mulberry. Enjoy free time with your car and driver at your disposal. In the late afternoon, transfer to the railway station for your return journey to Tashkent on the high-speed Afrosiyob train, departing at 15:52 and arriving at 17:10. Transfer to your hotel in Tashkent for an overnight stay.
Duration of sightseeing: 3-4 hours

Day 6Tashkent – Departure

Check out from the hotel by noon. Enjoy some free time for last-minute shopping or sightseeing until your transfer to Tashkent International Airport for departure. This marks the end of your enriching 6-day tour of Uzbekistan.
