Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Baku & City Discovery

Upon your arrival in Baku, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Check-in is available from 12:00. After a brief rest, embark on a guided city tour of Baku. Begin with a walk along Martyrs’ Lane (Shehidler Khiyabany), a serene memorial site offering panoramic views of Baku Bay. Next, delve into the UNESCO-listed Old City (Icheri Sheher), where centuries of history echo through cobbled streets. Visit the majestic Shirvanshah’s Palace, the historic Caravanserai, and the enigmatic Maiden Tower. Stroll through the lively main market square, brimming with local art studios and souvenir vendors. Conclude the tour on vibrant Nizami Street and lively Fountain Square. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2Baku – Ateshgah – Heydar Aliyev Centre – Gobustan – Baku

After breakfast, journey to Surakhany village to explore Ateshgah, the ancient Fire Temple once revered by Zoroastrians from India. Return to Baku to visit the iconic Heydar Aliyev Cultural Centre, a stunning architectural marvel by Zaha Hadid. Inside, discover diverse exhibits on Azerbaijani culture, featuring traditional costumes, music, and carpets. In the afternoon, drive to Gobustan National Park to explore prehistoric petroglyphs etched into rocks as early as 10,000 BC. Visit the Petroglyphs Museum, and, weather permitting, switch to a 4×4 vehicle to witness Gobustan’s famous mud volcanoes, which account for nearly half of the world’s total. Return to Baku for the night.

Day 3:Baku – Shamakhi – Lahich – Sheki

Enjoy breakfast before departing Baku for Sheki. En route, stop in Maraza to see the Diri Baba Mausoleum, uniquely built into a cliff face. Continue to Shamakhi to visit the Juma Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in the Caucasus, restored in 2013. If weather permits, drive through the scenic Girdimanchay Canyon to Lahich, a mountain village known for its preserved medieval sewage systems and cobblestone streets. This picturesque village is famed for its craftsmanship, including metalwork, carpets, and traditional tools. Arrive in Sheki by evening, a tranquil town nestled among green hills, renowned for its signature baklava. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 4:Sheki – Georgian Border – Kvareli – Telavi

After breakfast and hotel check-out, start your day with a visit to the vibrant Sheki Bazaar, rich in local produce, spices, cheeses, and confections. Next, explore the Sheki Khans Palace, set within fortress walls and famous for its ornate stained-glass windows. Visit nearby artisan workshops and the historic caravanserai. Then, drive to the Georgian border and after formalities, meet your Georgian guide. Enjoy a scenic drive to the Khareba Winery near Kvareli, passing through picturesque vineyards. Discover the winery’s rock-hewn tunnels originally built for military use. Enjoy a wine tasting session before heading to Telavi for hotel check-in and overnight stay.

Day 5:Telavi – Tsinandali – Sighnaghi – Bodbe – Tbilisi

Begin with a morning stroll through Telavi’s charming old town and stop by the monument to King Erekle II and the centuries-old plane tree. Visit the Tsinandali Estate, former home of Prince Chavchavadze, featuring a landscaped garden, museum, and wine cellar. Next, continue to Sighnaghi, a hilltop town famed for its romantic atmosphere and well-preserved city walls with 23 towers. Drive to nearby Bodbe Convent, the final resting place of St. Nino, who brought Christianity to Georgia. Arrive in Tbilisi in the evening and check in to your hotel. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 6:Tbilisi – City Sightseeing & Cultural Evening

After breakfast, set out on a guided tour of Georgia’s vibrant capital. Start at Metekhi Church and the statue of Vakhtang Gorgasali, Tbilisi’s legendary founder. Climb to Narikala Fortress for sweeping views over the city, then descend to the historic sulphur bath district. Wander through Sharden Street, dotted with cozy cafés, boutiques, and galleries. Visit Sioni Cathedral, Anchiskhati Basilica, and the quirky clock tower of the Rezo Gabriadze Puppet Theatre. Cross the iconic Bridge of Peace to explore Rike Park. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Georgian dinner with live folk music and dance. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7:Tbilisi – Jvari – Mtskheta – Ananuri – Kazbegi – Gudauri

Today’s journey takes you north after breakfast. Visit Jvari Monastery, perched above the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers, showcasing early medieval architecture. Proceed to Mtskheta, Georgia’s spiritual heart, and explore the 11th-century Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Continue to Ananuri Fortress, a riverside complex overlooking Jinvali Reservoir. Drive along the Georgian Military Highway, stopping at the panoramic “Friendship Monument” viewpoint. In Kazbegi (Stepantsminda), transfer to a 4WD to reach Gergeti Trinity Church (2,170 m), set against the majestic backdrop of Mount Kazbegi. Finish the day in Gudauri, a popular mountain resort. Overnight stay.

Day 8:Gudauri – Uplistsikhe – Gori – Kutaisi

After breakfast, depart Gudauri to explore the rock-carved city of Uplistsikhe, a remarkable blend of pagan and Christian elements dating to the Hellenistic period. Next, visit Gori, the birthplace of Joseph Stalin. Explore the Stalin Museum, his childhood home, and the famous armored train he used for travel. Journey onward to Kutaisi via the scenic Rikoti Pass and Georgia’s longest tunnel. Arrive in Kutaisi, Western Georgia’s ancient capital, once known as “Aia.” Overnight at a hotel in Kutaisi.

Day 9:Kutaisi – Prometheus Cave – Okatse Canyon – Kutaisi

Begin the day with a visit to Prometheus Cave, an underground marvel filled with impressive stalactites and stalagmites. Continue to Okatse Canyon, where a suspended trail through lush Dadiani Forest offers jaw-dropping canyon views. After exploring the area, return to Kutaisi and enjoy the evening at your leisure. Overnight in Kutaisi.

Day 10:Kutaisi – Bagrati Cathedral – Gelati Monastery – Tbilisi

After breakfast, explore Kutaisi’s iconic landmarks. Visit the 11th-century Bagrati Cathedral, visible from across the city. Then drive to Gelati Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Georgia’s most revered religious and educational centres, founded by King David the Builder. In the afternoon, return to Tbilisi and check in to your hotel. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 11:Free Day in Tbilisi

After breakfast, enjoy a free day in Tbilisi to explore at your own pace. Optional culinary masterclasses in Georgian cuisine are available (4-5 hours, US$60). Alternatively, visit the Georgian National Museum, explore the flea market at Dry Bridge, wander the art nouveau streets of Sololaki, or ride the funicular to Mtatsminda. Art lovers may also enjoy the State Opera House or National Gallery. In the evening, unwind at a sulphur bathhouse. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 12:Tbilisi – Armenian Border – Haghpat – Dilijan

Following breakfast, transfer to the Sadakhlo-Bagratashen border crossing. Upon entering Armenia, meet your new guide and driver and journey into the lush Lori Province. Visit Haghpat Monastery, a magnificent UNESCO site from the 10th–13th centuries, perched above the Debed River. Continue to Dilijan, a peaceful town embraced by forested hills. Free evening to relax. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 13: Dilijan – Sevanavank – Garni – Geghard – Yerevan

After breakfast, drive to Lake Sevan, the vast alpine lake known as Armenia’s “blue-eyed beauty.” Visit Sevanavank Monastery, nestled on a peninsula with spectacular mountain views. Continue to Garni, home to Armenia’s only pagan temple, then proceed to the rock-carved Geghard Monastery, partially hewn into the surrounding cliffs. Established in the 4th century, Geghard is one of Armenia’s most spiritual and artistic monuments. Arrive in Yerevan by evening. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 14:Yerevan – Etchmiadzin – Yerevan City Tour

Enjoy breakfast before heading to Etchmiadzin Cathedral, spiritual centre of the Armenian Apostolic Church and residence of the Catholicos. Return to Yerevan for a city tour. Begin at the Armenian Genocide Memorial on Tsitsernakaberd Hill. Then explore the Cascade Complex, a monumental stairway offering panoramic city views. Walk through central Yerevan, passing iconic sites like the Opera House, Republic Square, Abovyan Avenue, and Swan Lake. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 15:Departure from Yerevan

Following breakfast and check-out by 12:00, enjoy some free time before your transfer to Yerevan International Airport for your departure flight. The tour concludes here.
